January 1, 2014 SCIP measure changes/adjustments:
- Temperature measure retired by Joint Commission
- Cardiac blood glucose measure now adjusted to:
- controlled post-op blood glucose of ≤ 180 in the time frame of 18 to 24 hours after anesthesia end
- Adjustment to vancomycin reason to administer prior to peri-op time period
- documentation of colonization with MRSA, a positive MRSA screen, an MRSA infection, or a history of MRSA
- Aspirin now accepted for VTE prophylaxis for elective total knee, total hip replacement, or hip fracture surgery
