DVT Prophylaxis Table

Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs) must be placed during surgery and immediately after surgery unless a contraindication is documented by the MD, NP or PA within 24 hours of surgery end time. Ted hose alone do NOT satisfy the requirement!

A SCIP compliant pharmacologic agent must be ordered and actually administered to the patient within 24 hours of surgery end time unless a contraindication is documented by the MD, NP or PA within 24 hours of surgery end time.

ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY / TOTAL HIP /
KNEE REPLACEMENT
Any of the following:
-Low-dose unfractionated heparin
-Low molecular weight heparin
-Factor Xa Inhibitor
-Oral factor Xa Inhibitor
-Venous foot pump
-Intermittent pneumatic compression devices
-Warfarin
-Aspirin
HIP FRACTURE SURGERY Any of the following:
-Low-dose unfractionated heparin
-Low molecular weight heparin
-Factor Xa Inhibitor
-Intermittent pneumatic compression devices
-Warfarin
-Aspirin
